The Pride of the Yankees
The 1942 film, The Pride of the Yankees, portrayed the life of the famous baseball player, Lou Gehrig. It was made just two years after Gehrig’s death and had the appearance of many of Gehrig’s teammates along with Gary Cooper playing Lou, Teresa Wright playing Gehrig’s wife, Eleanor, and Walter Brennan as Sam Blake.
